Welcome back to the city everyone! Club Fest is next Thursday, September 10th. The College Democrats will have a booth there from 2-7pm. Come say hello, catch up, explore all of the booths and encourage all of your friends to come check out the club. Our first meeting of the semester will be on September 24th, more info on that will be coming soon.

We’ve also received information about a few more internship opportunities that you should check out if you want to get involved in this fall’s elections:

Brad Lander for City Council:

The campaign I’m working on needs interns for data entry, voter contact, staffing of candidate, delivering signs to supporters and getting them put up in store fronts, and all around helping out with GOTV. If anyone is interested they can call me at 203-313-0528 or email me at ptrck.mcclellan@gmail.com

Alan Gerson for City Council:

We can use help in a few different ways:

-  Office help:  we can use interns to help out with organizing events, making phone calls to local community leaders and setting up meetings.

-  Street canvassing:  we have a lot of opportunities for this.  This can be anyone and pretty much any day/hours.  We set up tables and hand out lit, hang up posters and need building stuffers for letters and what not. As we get closer to Sept. 15th we’ll need more people for this effort. And on election day, we’ll need as many people as we can get for pollsters.

-  Writing projects:  I can also use people who can help out with writing blogs, memos and various other writing projects.  Most importantly we need bodies on the street for the canvassing. Either to hand out lit, to fill buildings up or to make calls in a phone bank.

Have anyone email me or call me at 240-481-4871.

Jon Corzine for Govenor:

My name is Erin Caragher and I am the Director of Youth Vote for the Corzine for Governor Campaign. As you know, New Jersey is one of only two states in the nation to hold a gubernatorial race this year. The outcome of this election will have national significance and will serve to either validate or undermine President Obama?s progressive national agenda.

President Obama has been outspoken in his support of democrat Jon Corzine and has noted that a blue Jersey is critical to pushing his agenda in Washington. Having served in the Senate together, Jon Corzine and Barrack Obama are friends who share the same values and goals.

Our campaign needs your organization?s help to elect democrat Jon Corzine and to help further Obama?s progressive agenda for the nation. I am organizing peer-to-peer phone banks to rally young voters in New Jersey to vote for Jon Corzine. If your members are interested/ available to participate in this effort, please let me know. I can be reached via email or on my cell at 732-423-9036.

Last year, young people across the nation turned ?Yes We Can? into ?Yes We Did.? This year, we can harness those same efforts to ensure that the White House has a partner in the State House.

Update(9/4)-

Cy Vance for District Attorney:

We are running phone banks in Manhattan in three hour shifts September 11th to the 15th. Food and drinks will be provided. If anybody is interested, please have them email me at AnaR1120@yahoo.com and I will give them more information.

To learn more about Cy, you can visit our website: www.cyvanceforda.com or call the office at 646-461-6098.
